Meet The Member: Jacob Meltzer

Jacob Meltzer is a Managing Partner at Keep It Cut, bringing a decade of experience in student leadership development and property management. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Western Washington University and a Master’s in Post-Secondary and Higher Education from Arizona State University.

What is your favorite memory of The McKinley Club?

Friendsgiving is my favorite event of the year. Every year I have had a chance to meet new people that I don't typically run into, as well as catch up with others I may not have seen for a bit.  Plus...the food is delicious. My favorite is actually potluck style because I feel like it brings people together like family.

What is your go-to snack from the cupboard?

Salt and Vinegar chips. I love the PopTarts, but at 400 calories a bag I have to be careful to not love them TOO much.

What is the best bit of business advice you’ve ever received?

“You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.” -James Clear. Building a multi unit retail operation you have to have solid systems in order to offload work and ensure consistency. Without that you are stuck with what you personally can do yourself and you can never take time off.

Five facts about your business:

  • Keep It Cut was the first men's hair salon or barbershop to offer Unlimited Haircut Memberships

  • We compost all our hair and paper neck strips through RecycledCity

  • At their 5 year work anniversary our team members get a custom bobblehead of themselves

  • My business partner and I have been friends since 6th grade

  • Neither my business partner or I cut hair
